We are excited to announce an opening for the role of Technical Support Specialist at Itron, Bangalore.

Note:

This role requires candidates to work mid/evening shifts. Please apply only if you are comfortable with shift work.

Job Responsibilities:

Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues, providing fixes and workarounds.
Ensure software operability by verifying changes and investigating system performance.
Adapt to work shifts based on client requirements.

Required Skills:

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Linux operating system and application product support.
Understanding application architecture and recommending changes for optimization.
Knowledge of problem-solving and incident management processes along with ITIL framework.
Basic understanding of network monitoring concepts and management tools.
Familiarity with scripting basics such as Perl, Shell, and web application languages like SQL and J2EE.
Experience with databases: PostgreSQL or RDBMS with basic query-writing skills.
Familiarity with networking concepts and understanding OSI layers.
Knowledge of HTTP headers, cookies, web APIs, web servers, SSL, and communication protocols.
Experience with debugging tools such as cURL, Postman, Fiddler, Chrome Debugger, etc.

Additional Knowledge:

Familiarity with cloud concepts, middleware like Tomcat/JBoss, and architecture fundamentals.
Understanding of messaging queues such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka.
Desirable: Experience with Azure cloud services.
Experience in managing issues and requests logged through ServiceNow and JIRA.

Development & Debugging:

Proficient in supporting web applications based on Java/Linux and ITIL processes.
Experience in scripting languages (Shell scripting, Python) and Java/J2EE debugging.
Ability to pinpoint code issues at the LOC level and troubleshoot logs.
Understanding Java memory loads, data flow analysis, and debugging stack dumps and thread dumps.
Strong grasp of XML, JSON, and RESTful APIs.
