Job Description
Role Overview
A position for a Technical IT Operations Lead has opened within Airbus India under Information Management (IM), supporting Airbus Projects, Client Engagement, and Services.
As part of the Technical Data Dispatch Product, your mission is to lead a team responsible for operational activities. The focus is to ensure H24 operations are running smoothly, collaborate with the infrastructure operations team, support project deployments, and propose operational improvements.
You will need to:
- Familiarize yourself with the Technical Data Dispatch Portfolio architecture and its functional processes.
- Build and scale a local Airbus India team with expertise in IT architecture and operations.
- Support the product strategy to transition from existing Airbus premises to new solutions, including cloud-based systems.
The position requires strong collaboration with the Technical Data Product Service Line based in Toulouse, France. Occasional travel to Toulouse may be required based on operational or project needs.
Qualifications and Experience
Must-Have Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a relevant field with 10–12 years of IT experience.
- Strong background in project management and team organization.
- Ability to understand technical and operational systems (e.g., Linux servers, databases, monitoring tools) to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical solutions while assessing potential impacts.
- Familiarity with the Technical Data Dispatch Ecosystem and its processes.
- Expertise in ITIL management, including incident management, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and change management.
- Experience leading crisis meetings to restore applications and services.
- Ability to manage escalations during critical situations.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- Proactive problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong skills in customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
- Quick learner with the ability to grasp new technologies and pass the knowledge to team members.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Experience working remotely with European colleagues is a plus.
- Knowledge or experience in the following technologies:
- Systems: Linux RedHat, Windows, storage solutions.
- Languages: Java, batch programming.
- Databases: Neo4J, ElasticSearch, Oracle, PostgreSQL.
- Monitoring Tools: Kibana, Logstash, Splunk.
- Automation Tools: Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, Tower.
- Cloud and Containers: AWS, OpenShift.
- Experience in test automation and test-driven development methodologies.
Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead and organize the TechData Dispatch Operations Team.
- Report activities to the TechData Dispatch Product Owner (HO DCTC).
- Act as the focal point for TechData Dispatch Operations, collaborating with operational stakeholders such as infrastructure teams, monitoring teams, L3 development teams, and customer support.

Operational Excellence:
- Ensure operational activities meet expected SLA levels (e.g., 99.5% application availability, incident resolution within <4.3 days).
- Manage and drive crisis meetings during application outages or service degradations.
- Establish an operational roadmap to achieve objectives and targets.

Project Deployment Support:
- Validate planning and technical architecture proposed by IT architects.
- Oversee system configuration and acceptance testing by IT operation specialists.
- Support application deployment across environments, from validation to production.

Continuous Improvement:
- Propose and implement technical or organizational improvements to enhance operations.
- Monitor and analyze IM Change Board decisions to anticipate potential risks or issues.

Incident and Quality Management:
- Ensure incident management and quality processes are well applied.
- Guarantee that TechData creation version management is properly executed.

Collaboration and Reporting:
- Maintain strong connections with the Airbus IM organization and Toulouse Dispatch Team.
- Provide proactive guidance and input for the operational roadmap.
- Report regularly on activities, SLAs, and incidents.
Success Metrics
- Achieve and maintain 99.5% application availability and mean time to resolve incidents (<4.3 days).
- Deliver projects on time and with high quality (first-time-right approach).
- Propose innovative functional solutions through operational improvements.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain a high-performing team with the necessary skills to meet mission requirements.
- Effectively manage project requests, from technical architecture design to system deployment and service readiness.
