Job Responsibilities

  • Possess a strong understanding of credit policy and underwriting for Business Loans and Loan Against Property (LAP).
  • Evaluate credit proposals by analyzing market, business, and financial risks to make informed loan decisions.
  • Assess borrowers' business, financial, and credit history to determine their creditworthiness.
  • Examine financial statements, bank records, ITRs, and GSTN records to assess prospective customers’ short-term and long-term solvency and liquidity.
  • Have deep knowledge of local geography and the socio-economic conditions of the branch sales zone.
  • Implement fraud prevention measures, mitigate property overvaluation, and manage legal risks through effective coordination with agencies.
  • Analyze credit risks and provide feedback to the central policy and underwriting team for preventive actions.
  • Understand customer requirements and ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Take responsibility for implementing strict underwriting standards and internal controls at the branch to safeguard data and assets.
  • Oversee operational risk and support functions, including PDD, collections data, and foreclosure requests.
  • Conduct regular branch audits and monitor fraud risks and early delinquencies.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and collateral management regularly.
  • Ensure approval rate and turnaround time (TAT) meet prescribed standards.
  • Ensure compliance with KYC, regulatory requirements, credit underwriting, collateral management, legal agencies, and audit functions.
  • Perform basic analytics and MIS reporting to stakeholders at the branch level.
  • Implement standard operating policies, process documentation, and risk frameworks as recommended by the risk policy unit.
  • Identify and initiate process improvements to reduce risk and enhance efficiency.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Mentor and train team members to maintain high credit standards.
  • Oversee vendor management and ensure smooth delegation of work.
  • Conduct daily local travel for personal discussions (PDs), customer visits, and vendor meetings.

  • Branch Head: Daily interaction
  • National/State Underwriting Head: As needed
  • Borrowers/Customers: As needed
  • Collections Unit: As needed
  • Vendors: Daily interaction

Language Skills

  • Basic proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Fluency in the regional/state vernacular language.
  • Strong communication skills.
