Role Overview

A position for an IT Operations Specialist has opened within Airbus India for Information Management (IM) supporting Airbus Projects, Client Engagement, and Services. The mission is to deliver innovative IT solutions that drive digital transformation and support efficient operations for Airbus’ airline customers.

As part of the Technical Data Solution Product, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating an applications portfolio that enables Airbus and its airline clients to create, publish, and access accurate maintenance information tailored to specific aircraft configurations and components.

The role involves ensuring the smooth operation of assigned applications and resolving incidents raised by end users. When necessary, you will involve L3 support for resolution.

You will work closely with the IM India team, supporting the Technical Data Product Service Line located in Toulouse, France. Travel to Toulouse may be required based on project or operational needs.


Qualifications and Experience

Must-Have Skills:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field with at least 5 years of experience in IT.
  • Strong knowledge of technical and operational systems like SAP and monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in ITIL management processes, including incident management, root cause analysis, and change management.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT development, delivery, and services.
  • Expertise in running operations and managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and customer satisfaction skills.
  • Technical expertise:
    • ERP: SAP (SAP HANA is a plus).
    • Monitoring Tools: Control-M.
    • Systems: Linux RedHat, storage management.
    • Languages: Scripting, batch programming, ABAP understanding.
    • Structured Data Formats: XML.
  • Experience working remotely with colleagues in Europe is an advantage.
  • High level of English proficiency.
  • Quick learner, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  1. Operational Support:

    • Maintain system uptime and ensure incident resolution within SLA (99.5% uptime and mean time to resolve < 4.3 days).
    • Perform ITIL-based processes: incident, change, configuration, and event management.
    • Monitor and reschedule jobs using Control-M if needed.
    • Handle data transformation requests and maintain system performance.
    • Troubleshoot incidents and coordinate with L2/L3 support teams for resolution.
  2. Incident Management:

    • Analyze system failures, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions.
    • Ensure proper escalation during emergency situations.
    • Maintain communication with business and stakeholders regarding downtime or operational issues.
  3. Project Support:

    • Participate in non-regression testing and operational readiness activities for projects.
    • Prepare operational documentation, monitoring setups, and database updates.
  4. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational documentation and incident reports.
    • Deliver operational KPIs to business stakeholders.
  5. Collaboration:

    • Coordinate with the IM team and Technical Data Solution team in Toulouse.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to improve operational roadmaps.
    • Act as a team player, contributing to the success of the Technical Data Service Line.

  • Ensure SLA compliance with 99.5% uptime and mean time to resolve incidents (< 4.3 days).
  • Maintain clear communication and timely escalation of operational issues.
