Role Overview:

As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Barclays, you'll support the successful delivery of Location Strategy projects, ensuring they meet plans, budgets, and governance standards. Your role will focus on driving the evolution of the digital landscape, leveraging technology to revolutionize digital offerings and enhance customer experiences.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & Reporting:

    • Efficient execution of complex research tasks, including proposal/report writing and submission.

    • Collection and analysis of data from public-domain sources for investigative business intelligence.

    • Creation of research reports, presentations, link charts, and diagrams to represent findings.

  • Information Evaluation:

    • Assess the accuracy, reliability, and relevance of sources and information.

    • Identify new sources of information, research tools, and methods to improve reporting quality.

  • Market Monitoring:

    • Stay updated on political decisions, legislative changes, and international trends that impact BI products.

  • Case-Management & Risk Control:

    • Oversee overall case-management with a risk & control framework.

    • Conduct quality management and produce Management Information Systems (MIS) reports.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Handle administrative responsibilities within the BI function to maintain efficient operations.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 3+ years in research or investigative roles is desirable.

    • Strong analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.

    • Previous experience in banking products and associated risks is a plus.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    • Other language skills are an advantage.

  • Other Competencies:

    • A deep understanding of critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

    • Ability to identify risks and red flags.


Purpose of the Role:

  • Provide liaison services between business, technology, and security functions to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.

  • Support the mitigation of security risks while enhancing overall risk management and business processes.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Risk Assessments:

    • Collaborate with business units to assess and prioritize potential cybersecurity threats.

    • Guide the implementation of mitigation strategies and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.

  • Security Policy Development:

    • Develop and implement security policies and procedures aligned with the risk management framework.

  • Incident Management:

    • Manage complex cybersecurity incidents, working with IT teams to resolve issues effectively.

  • Emerging Threats & Solutions:

    • Identify emerging cybersecurity trends and advocate for adopting new security solutions.

  • Employee Training:

    • Conduct training sessions to enhance cybersecurity awareness across the organization.
