The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Management Consultant with executive local government, consultancy, or corporate finance experience. This role requires strong financial strategy, business knowledge, and analytical skills, with experience in business cases, section 17As, and sourcing funding being a plus.

Your work will typically involve long-term financial planning, financial sustainability assessments, special rate variation, pricing determination applications, capital expenditure review development, and other financial assessments for service and operational reviews. You will also assist with reviews of waste, water, and developer contribution financial plans.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating closely with clients on team-based projects, which can be both short- and long-term.

  • Assisting in financial assessments, including planning, forecasting, and reviewing business cases.

  • Working both in-house with clients and from our offices, with flexibility for work-from-home days.

  • Delivering financial sustainability assessments and special pricing determinations.

  • Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.


About You:

  • Experience:

    • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in management consulting or in a public sector/consultancy environment.

    • Proven track record in financial strategy, business case development, and financial analysis.

  • Skills & Qualifications:

    • Relevant degree with strong financial literacy and qualifications.

    • Ability to think critically and strategically while developing pragmatic solutions.

    • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create tailored, engaging content for clients.

    • Strong client service focus, with the ability to listen effectively and provide implementable solutions.

    • Comfortable managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines efficiently.

    • Strong experience in networking and building relationships with clients and stakeholders.

    • Ability to travel when needed.
