Role Overview

Join ION’s Delivery Services team and develop your consulting skills while working with award-winning software solutions. As a Senior Business Consultant, you will engage with energy and commodities clients worldwide, providing expertise in implementing ION’s Product solution. This role will involve contributing to project success through advising on software and industry needs, offering hands-on support in product implementation, and ensuring best practices throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

Advisory & Troubleshooting: Provide functional and industry advice during the discovery workshop, design, implementation, testing, and production support of the Product solution.
Presentations & Client Support: Present the Product solution to client users, ensuring it meets business needs.
Collaborate with Technical Consultants: Support Technical Consultants with business and functional guidance, review, testing, and validation of solutions like reports, plugins, and interfaces.
Consultation with Clients: Work with client users to define business requirements and work processes to address them within the Product solution.
Configuration Expertise: Demonstrate deep knowledge of product configuration and one or more energy commodities.
Guide Business Consultants: Provide functional expertise and guidance to Business Consultants within specific areas of the Product solution.
Documentation & Reporting: Assist with gathering and documenting business requirements, configuration designs, test plans/results, and other deliverables.
Implementation Support: Actively participate in all phases of the Product implementation, reporting to the Project Manager.
Maintain Chargeability: Ensure full chargeability on assigned client accounts.
Adherence to Best Practices: Follow implementation best practices, ensuring all design, specifications, custom coding, testing, and deliverables align with ION’s standards.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting Product installations.
- Strong knowledge of ETRM systems, especially RightAngle and relevant areas such as Accounting, Scheduling, Front Office, and Mid Office/Risk.
Industry Knowledge: Expertise in one or more of the following industries: Crude, Lease Crude, NGLs (Natural Gas Liquids), Refined Products, Biofuels, Coal, Airlines, Pipeline Operations, Rack/Retail Business.
Functional Expertise:
- Accounting: Experience with transaction typing, accounts payable/receivables, tax, invoicing templates, derivatives (realized and unrealized), cashflows, and more.
- Scheduling: Strong knowledge of scheduling concepts in ETRM systems with experience in transportation, storage, inventory management, and position reporting.
- Front Office & Risk: Experience with physical and financial instruments, derivatives, pricing indices, credit reporting, exposure reporting, VaR, and stress testing.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Consulting Skills: Ability to work as part of a project team, interacting with clients and providing insights during product solution implementations.

Additional Requirements

Travel: Ability to work onsite at client locations as needed.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work well within a project team structure, contributing to team success.
Implementation Experience: Prior implementation experience with ETRM systems, particularly RightAngle, is preferred but not mandatory.
