Job Title: Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding and Logistics

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain management, with a proven track record of driving business growth and building client relationships. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, expanding the customer base, and achieving sales targets in the competitive Mumbai market.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Business Development:
Ø Identify and target new business opportunities in the freight forwarding and logistics sector across Mumbai and surrounding regions.
Ø Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the company’s market share and revenue.
Ø Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
Ø Client Acquisition and Relationship Management
Ø Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, including importers, exporters, manufacturers, and traders.
Ø Understand client requirements and provide customized logistics solutions, including air freight, sea freight, road transportation, and warehousing services.
Ø Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Sales and Negotiation:
Ø Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
Ø Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure profitable deals while maintaining client satisfaction.
Ø Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and operational efficiency.
Market Penetration:
Ø Focus on industries such as pharmaceuticals, automotive, retail, e-commerce, and FMCG to drive business growth.
Ø Leverage Mumbai’s strategic position as a major logistics hub to expand the company’s footprint.
Industry Knowledge and Networking:
Ø Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in freight forwarding and logistics.
Ø Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking sessions to build relationships and generate leads.
Reporting and Analysis:
Ø Track and report on sales performance, pipeline progress, and market trends.
Ø Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to enhance business growth.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: * Minimum of *5-7 years* of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the freight forwarding and logistics industry.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding operations (air, sea, road) and logistics services.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a competitive market.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
