Quora operates as a remote-first company. This role is part of the Finance Department and supports operations within India while aligning with Quora’s global financial strategy.
We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional with extensive experience in financial management and accounting within a fast-growing company. The candidate will oversee financial operations of Quora India, supporting month-end close, compliance, audits, and tax operations.
Month-End / Year-End Closing:
Perform reconciliations (bank/intercompany), accruals, depreciation, forex adjustments.
Finalize monthly reports per US GAAP and IGAAP.
Prepare profit reconciliation (US GAAP vs IGAAP).
Handle various month-end allocations.
Audit:
Prepare financial statements as per the Companies Act.
Coordinate with auditors and resolve queries.
Prepare and review audit schedules.
Tax & Compliance:
Compute and pay taxes (TDS, GST, advance tax, equalization levy).
File GST/TDS returns and manage compliance with external consultants.
Handle tax notices and assessments.
Coordinate for 3CEB/3CA/3CD filings and analyze 26AS for reconciliation.
Oversee FEMA and secretarial compliance.
Operations:
Oversee Accounts Payable processes.
Ensure strict policy adherence for approvals and payments.
Professional degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA, CMA, or equivalent qualification.
5–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
Advanced Excel and data management skills.
Strong knowledge of technical accounting and compliance.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Passion for Quora’s mission and product.
Prior experience in consumer internet companies.
Understanding of startup finance operations.
Position can be performed remotely from anywhere in Mumbai, India.
