Position Overview

The Finance Executive - Credit plays a key role in managing credit control and ensuring timely revenue collection for the hotel. This position works closely with the Director of Business Development, Director of Sales, Revenue Manager, Director of Banquet & Conference Sales, and Accounts Receivable team to optimize financial operations.


Key Responsibilities

Credit Management & Investigations

  • Conduct credit investigations to assess a customer’s creditworthiness and ability to pay.

  • Ensure all credit applications are approved and updated annually.

  • Report unfavorable credit information to management for prompt action.

Accounts Receivable & Collection

  • Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts.

  • Maintain good relationships with hotel clients, including corporate clients, travel agents, tour operators, and airlines.

  • Review supporting documents to verify the accuracy of receivables balances.

  • Work closely with the Accounts Receivable Supervisor to manage overdue accounts.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare all necessary financial reports related to accounts receivable.

  • Ensure monthly closing is completed accurately and on time.

  • Process and control all sundry payments made by credit card.

  • Maintain an up-to-date filing system for credit-related documents.

Risk Management & Loss Prevention

  • Proactively follow up on outstanding accounts to protect the hotel from financial losses.

  • Alert sister hotels regarding bad debt accounts to prevent potential losses.

  • Ensure proper documentation and approval process for non-recoverable accounts.

Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Supervise the Credit team to ensure efficient and effective performance.

  • Conduct monthly credit meetings to review outstanding accounts and action plans.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to improve financial processes and efficiency.


Required Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background:

  • University Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Management.

  • Professional Accounting Qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in a managerial operational accounting role.

Technical & Systems Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with OnQ, Check SCM, SUN, OPERA/ OnQ PMS, MICROS, HRLINK.

Soft Skills & Language:

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to liaise effectively with banks and government agencies.
