Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹21,600.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month


Job Summary:

The Department of Pharmacy at [University/College Name] is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching pharmacology-related courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting cutting-edge research, and contributing to the growth of the department. Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Instruction:

  • Provide laboratory and clinical-based teaching and guidance.

  • Advise and mentor pharmacy students in their academic and professional development.

Research:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in the field of pharmacology.

  • Publish research findings in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.

  • Seek external funding through grant applications to support pharmacology research.

  • Engage in interdisciplinary research opportunities both within and outside the institution.

  • Involve students in research projects to foster their academic growth.

Service & Leadership:

  • Serve on departmental and university committees as needed.

  • Participate in professional organizations and conferences in the field of pharmacology.

  • Contribute to the development of the department’s strategic goals.

  • Engage in community outreach and professional development activities.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an active professional network and stay current with trends and advancements in pharmacology.

  • Participate in accreditation and compliance-related activities.

  • Supervise and mentor postgraduate students (if applicable).

  • Assist with recruitment efforts for students and faculty members.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related field.

  • Postdoctoral experience and/or a strong background in pharmacology research is highly desirable.

  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level (preferably in pharmacology or related courses).

  • Proven record of research productivity and peer-reviewed publications.

  • Experience in grant writing and obtaining external funding is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of pharmacological principles and their application in the clinical setting.

  • Ability to design, implement, and assess innovative and effective teaching strategies.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in both research and teaching.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board certification in a specialized area of pharmacology (if applicable).

  • Experience in online or hybrid course delivery.

  • Expertise in a sub-specialty area of pharmacology, such as neuropharmacology, clinical pharmacology, or drug development.
