Join a passionate and diverse team of developers in creating the next generation of clustered media content management systems. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with some of the biggest content distribution providers and broadcasters globally.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose challenging technical issues within an AWS serverless environment.

  • Build and maintain tools to ensure the smooth operation of a broadcast-grade SaaS platform.

  • Analyze day-to-day technical operations to streamline and improve processes.

  • Bring an operational perspective to the team, ensuring systems are developed with reliability, maintainability, and operational ease in mind.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.

  • Perform system maintenance and troubleshooting, occasionally outside of regular business hours.

  • Promote industry and platform best practices for system development and operation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interest in new and upcoming software engineering technologies and practices.

  • Ability to clearly explain technical ideas and concepts.

  • Extensive knowledge of serverless and SaaS operation best practices.

  • Comprehensive understanding of distributed, scalable, and high-availability systems, including familiarity with CAP theorem limitations.

  • In-depth expertise in cloud technologies, particularly AWS services and tools (CloudFormation, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, EC2, S3, AWS CLI, Boto3, etc.).

  • Experience working with and building RESTful APIs.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins & AWS CodePipeline.

  • Proficiency in using the Git version control system.

  • Strong understanding of database concepts, including both relational and NoSQL persistence stores.

  • Extensive experience with Python is a plus.

  • Ability to manage personal workload and priorities effectively.

  • Strong sense of ownership, customer service, and integrity.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.

The evertz.io Engineering Team builds next-generation systems for content management and distribution in the Media and Entertainment industry. Our products and services are trusted by major content producers and publishers such as Disney, NBCUniversal, Discovery, and BBC.

We work with high-quality video in both real-time and non-real-time scenarios across various cutting-edge technologies. Our team specializes in different areas, from low-level video manipulation and analysis to backend management, orchestration services, and web-delivered UIs. Additionally, our Scientific Computing Group focuses on computer vision, data science, and machine learning, deploying experiments from Jupyter notebooks to production environments.

Our technology stack includes:

  • Serverless microservice architecture leveraging AWS services.

  • Code written in Python, Rust, and Java.

  • UI developed using Angular, TypeScript, and NgRx.

  • CI/CD pipelines utilizing AWS, Jenkins, Nexus, Bazel, and in-house release-management tools.
