Job Description:

Turnitin is seeking a People Partnerships & Employee Relations Director to join our Global People Team. This role will serve as the People Business Partner for APAC Operations and will report to the Senior Director, Global People Partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships with Turnitin leaders, aligning the People Strategy with business needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for employee relations, engagement, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership while also handling tactical, hands-on HR support.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to forecast and meet talent needs.
  • Ensure compliance with APAC employment laws across Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance People Team operations.
  • Champion Turnitin’s values and foster a positive company culture.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to track and improve key HR metrics like retention and diversity.
  • Support organizational design, talent development, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Social Impact programs.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • 10+ years of HR experience in a multicultural environment, managing remote teams and multiple APAC countries.
  • Strong background in employee relations, HR COEs, and generalist functions.
  • Experience in SaaS or technology sectors (preferred).
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactical HR processes.
  • Flexibility to work APAC hours and travel as needed.
  • Expert knowledge of employment laws across multiple APAC regions.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and change management skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Apple products, HRIS, ATS, and employee engagement platforms.
  • Exceptional C-suite communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or equivalent experience.
  • Membership in SHRM, CIPD, or a similar organization (preferred).

Preferred:

  • Experience with BambooHR and Google Suite.
  • Psychometric qualification (e.g., MBTI, Enneagram).
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in HRM or Organizational Psychology.
