How Will You Make an Impact in This Role?

As the Strategic Planning & Reporting Analyst, you will play a critical role in the Strategic Planning and Development team of Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS). This position is responsible for strategic planning, performance reporting, and managing control and compliance activities across the Latin America and Canada Region (LACC). You will ensure accurate and timely reporting, provide strategic insights to leadership, and support decision-making through data analysis. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.

About Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS):

GMNS manages the American Express card acceptance network and relationships with merchants, merchant acquirers, processors, and the network. GMNS also processes transactions, settles with merchants, provides marketing and fraud prevention services, and manages loyalty programs enabling consumers to earn and spend rewards points.

The GMNS Strategy, Planning, and Development (SP&D) team collaborates with the GMNS Group President and General Managers, focusing on planning, reporting, strategy formulation, business development, investment optimization, and compliance management. The successful candidate will report to the Manager based in Gurgaon.


Responsibilities:

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for senior management and stakeholders.

  • Analyze results, identify trends, and highlight risks and opportunities for improvement.

Performance Monitoring & Insights:

  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and deliver actionable insights.

  • Develop dashboards and data visualization tools to support decision-making.

  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Process Improvement & System Optimization:

  • Streamline reporting and planning processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Implement best practices for planning and analysis across the region.

Control Management:

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.

  • Conduct Key Risk Indicators (KRI) audits quarterly for the LACC region.

  • Support audits and regulatory reviews.

  • Manage documentation and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by creating data repositories.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Programming, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).

  • Experience: 1+ years in financial planning, reporting, or a related role.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to consolidate and present large data sets from multiple sources in executive reports and forums.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication with strong presentation skills.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Programming languages: SQL, Python, MLS

    • Data analysis and visualization

    • Debugging and problem-solving skills

    • Logical and abstract thinking with a keen eye for detail

  • Innovation: Ability to create clarity in ambiguous situations and propose programming/coding solutions for complex business challenges.
