Position Title: Data Governance Analyst / Senior Specialist

Location: Remote (New Delhi)
Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Duration: Long-term
Travel Requirement: 10% (Travel to Delhi)

About the Role:

In a world where data is critical to BCG's success, the Global Data Product Portfolio (PP) team was created to build foundational global data capabilities, products, and assets aimed at:

  • Enabling better decision-making

  • Generating new insights

  • Achieving operational excellence

  • Minimizing firm risk

The Data Governance team ensures that data is findable, understood, trusted, managed, and usable while supporting compliance with laws and regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on the HR Data Governance Strategy, including metadata management, data lineage, data classification, and maintaining data catalogs.

  • Promote cultural change by raising awareness of data governance principles and coaching stakeholders.

  • Facilitate workshops and forums to promote adherence to governance policies.

  • Implement Data Quality processes to proactively resolve issues.

  • Support data access controls for global data products.

  • Work closely with Global Data Governance Director, Data Stewards, and HR leaders to drive the HR Data Governance roadmap.

  • Gather and address data opportunities from business leads across HR, BI&A, and Finance.

  • Communicate Data Governance value linked to business impact.

  • Track KPIs and maturity metrics related to Data Governance and Data Quality.

  • Align with the Data Governance community to share best practices and ensure a consistent strategy.


You’re Good At:

  • Articulating a clear data governance vision and business value.

  • Harmonizing data definitions and flows across functions and geographies.

  • Implementing global Data Governance controls and strategies.

  • Leading initiatives like Metadata Management, Master Data Management, Data Quality Management, and Data Lineage documentation.

  • Sharing and adopting best practices internally and externally.

  • Developing analytics and KPIs to monitor Data Governance maturity.

  • Communicating the importance of Data Governance to broader stakeholders.


You Bring (Experience & Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree (preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field).

  • 5–7 years of experience in data-related roles (Data Management, Data Governance, BI & Analytics, etc.).

  • Experience working with HR data preferred (not mandatory).

  • Familiarity with Data Governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, EDM Council’s DCAM).

  • Strong understanding of Data Strategy, Data Warehousing, Data Modelling, and Data Quality concepts.

  • Hands-on experience with Data Governance tools (e.g., Talend Data Catalog) and Data Quality tools.

  • Understanding of data technologies like Snowflake and HR systems such as Workday, iCIMS, Eightfold.ai, Oracle, or SAP is beneficial.

  • Strong customer-centric mindset with the ability to form effective working relationships.

  • High attention to detail and a goal-oriented, proactive approach.
