Job Description

Position Overview

This role is part of the Global Travel Retail – Gulf and India Business Unit. Reporting to the BU Head of Business, the position is responsible for:

  • Building and maintaining strong, best-in-industry relationships with key clients (e.g., Airlines and Duty-Free Operators in Indian airports).
  • Developing duty-free account strategies globally to drive value for the Travel Retail business.
  • Achieving sales targets (business profit and cash management).
  • Providing efficient business solutions and promotional objectives through client value generation.
  • Mentoring junior sales staff and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Account Management:

    • Develop and implement client-specific strategic plans to achieve overall sales and profit goals.
    • Build professional networks with clients to foster collaboration and mutual growth.
  2. Sales Strategy and Execution:

    • Negotiate terms and conditions of agreements with clients.
    • Execute sales strategies and create business plans for all clients.
  3. Planning and Promotions:

    • Conduct sales planning, forecasting, and promotional activity coordination with clients.
    • Plan annual marketing and promotional calendars, manage new product launches, and ensure in-store brand visibility.
  4. Budget and Analysis:

    • Control and monitor in-market A&P (Advertising and Promotions) budgets.
    • Perform business A&P spending analyses.
  5. Market Analysis and Competitor Insights:

    • Analyze market and competitor activities, and take timely action to address competitive threats.
  6. Relationship Building:

    • Establish strong connections with operator senior management, shop floor teams, sales staff, and logistics personnel to ensure optimal brand positioning and sales.
  7. Target Achievement:

    • Meet shipment, depletion, and market share targets.
  8. Collaboration:

    • Partner with the Travel Retail Marketing team to customize global activations, promotions, and visibility to strengthen brand equity.

Qualifications

Education:

  • MBA from a premier institute.

Experience:

  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in sales and key account management, preferably in the travel retail business for FMCG and luxury brands.
  • Proven leadership experience in account planning, operational policy, merchandising, and financial management.
  • Evidence of successful client negotiations and management.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Leadership and Motivation: High energy, result-driven individual with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong market analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to plan effectively and adapt to a changing environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel: Must be willing to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.
