Job Overview

The Payments Processing Analyst is responsible for handling cash-related investigations and processing payments, including physical cash and valuables. The role involves interactions with internal and external stakeholders and handling time-sensitive, complex transactions for the bank’s internal and external clients.

This role requires accurate transaction processing, adherence to industry guidelines, and a strong focus on risk management to minimize processing errors. The Analyst will also be responsible for identifying process improvements to enhance client experience and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

1. Payment Processing & Operations

  • Process payments & transactions in line with established procedures and cut-off times.
  • Ensure accuracy in capturing payment-related information.
  • Assist the team with day-to-day operations.
  • Liaise with the sending location for clarifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and process changes.

2. Escalation & Compliance

  • Follow the escalation procedure and report issues to managers/supervisors.
  • Keep the Team Manager informed about unusual events and ensure internal regulations are followed.
  • Escalate any process-related ambiguities to supervisors.

3. Risk & Control

  • Conduct monthly departmental self-assessments.
  • Identify and document errors with suggested corrective actions.
  • Ensure all processes comply with internal risk guidelines.

4. Training & Development

  • Train new recruits as per the Training Module.
  • Assess trainees using tests and quizzes.
  • Maintain training records and assist the manager in preparing team-related MIS reports.

5. Process Improvement & Business Growth

  • Identify and communicate potential business opportunities.
  • Contribute to innovation by suggesting process improvements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Minimum Graduation in any stream.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of Payments flow.
  • Proficiency in SWIFT, Payments Back Office Operations, and Risk & Regulatory Compliance.
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk in banking.
