Function Description

The Legal Entity Reporting Centre of Excellence (LER CoE) is responsible for delivering statutory reporting and managing audits for multiple legal entities across international regions.


Role Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparation & coordination of LACC Legal Entity Statutory & Regulatory reports and associated documents.
  • Acting as the primary coordination point for Statutory Auditors during external audits.
  • Supporting strategic projects like Vanguard, focusing on automation and control enhancement.
  • Leading a team of professionals responsible for statutory reporting and audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Legal Entity Controller in achieving local statutory and regulatory filing objectives for the LACC region.
  • Lead the end-to-end transition and stabilization of new Legal Entity non-US GAAP Reporting into the CoE.
  • Ensure timely adherence to all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including annual financial statements, Financial Analysis Book (FAB), and other required regulatory reports.
  • Identify, escalate, and track reporting issues to ensure compliance and resolution.
  • Ensure accuracy and maintain audit trails for all reports from US GAAP ledger to local GAAP.
  • Coordinate with Legal Entity Controllership teams to track and implement any changes in regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with GFO and other functions to facilitate external audit support.
  • Lead Project Vanguard workstreams, focusing on process automation and control enhancements.
  • Continuously seek process improvements through automation and elimination of non-value-added tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA) with 7+ years of post-qualification experience in Finance.

Technical & Functional Expertise:

  • Strong background in accounting, statutory/regulatory reporting, and statutory audits.
  • Advanced knowledge of IFRS GAAP and reporting requirements.
  • Strong Risk & Control knowledge and experience.
  • Familiarity with AXP policies, processes, and systems.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-level automation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and other accounting standards (advantageous).

Leadership & Behavioral Skills:

  • Ability to collaborate across geographies in a matrix organization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior leadership and external auditors.
  • Ability to influence decisions, drive results, and synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • High motivation, strong sense of accountability, and a can-do attitude.
