Global Purchasing Executive – Supply Chain

Job Summary

If you are a Supply Chain professional, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! As a Global Purchasing Executive, you will ensure material availability at plants, achieve a 94% Request Date Service Level (RDSL), and manage inventory according to IO guidelines to support World Area Manufacturing Sites (WAMS).


Key Responsibilities

???? Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Plan and issue purchase orders to suppliers and collaborate for on-time direct shipments to WAMS.
  • Calibrate and distribute global forecasts to suppliers.
  • Publish global delivery performance reports and drive actions for non-performing supplier improvements.
  • Work with suppliers to improve lead times and flexibility to support WAMS demand surges and project orders.
  • Review and take action on slow-moving and excess inventory.

???? Logistics & Contracts

  • Evaluate and determine the best shipment mode to optimize logistics costs.
  • Coordinate global contracts, agreements, and terms/conditions for WAMS purchases.

???? Data Integrity & Compliance

  • Maintain purchasing parameter integrity (price, lead-time, order policy, drawing revision, commodity code, etc.).
  • Implement, coordinate, and maintain Advance Deviation Requests/Supplier Corrective Actions as per procedures.
  • Ensure purchases align with WAMS trade import/export regulations and internal control policies.

???? Reporting & Strategic Initiatives

  • Build and submit procurement reports (supplier delivery performance, cost savings, inventory on hand, etc.) to management and worldwide strategic commodity managers.
  • Support Commodity Managers in implementing plans like Reverse Auctions and tooling tracking.

???? Supplier Collaboration & Training

  • Collaborate with global teams to set up new suppliers and maintain supplier databases.
  • Train new suppliers for i-Portal and other tools.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and proactively enhance procurement processes.

Required Qualifications

???? Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain.
  • Strong strategic sourcing, supply chain management, contracting, and supplier management skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.

???? Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Management, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Tools is a plus.
