Job Summary:

The role involves overseeing the trade capture, booking amendments, trade life cycle, novations/assignments, reconciliation, and control/reporting activities of the business. You will manage query remediation, daily processing, and timely escalation to minimize risk exposure. The role also includes enabling new business and solutions, collaborating with internal teams, and driving strategic initiatives for the Financial Markets (FM) function.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Business Alignment:

  • Be a product expert, understanding business priorities and defining optimal solutions.

  • Simplify the current operating model and create efficiencies across the bank.

  • Lead the evolution of product offerings and define internal standards, influencing industry positioning.

Operations & Risk Management:

  • Manage the trade life cycle, including FX, Rates, Credit, Repo, and Treasury Markets.

  • Ensure timely escalation and risk minimization by managing query remediation and trade processing.

  • Drive continuous improvement and collaborate with technology teams for transformation.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Operations in relation to Trading and Sales Desks.

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring efficient communication and speedy resolutions.

  • Facilitate collaboration across functions and regions to close gaps and standardize processes.

Innovation & Improvement:

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency and enhance the global consistency of processes.

  • Drive process and system innovations in partnership with technology teams.

  • Lead the development of Management Information Systems (MIS) and analyze the cost-per-trade and other operational metrics.

Risk and Governance:

  • Ensure adherence to the Ops Risk Framework and implement policies and procedures.

  • Comply with group standards, policies, and procedures while maintaining the integrity of operations.

  • Handle escalations and resolutions according to escalation policies and procedures.

People & Talent:

  • Foster a culture of openness, trust, and risk awareness.

  • Ensure that ethical, legal, regulatory, and policy-compliant conduct is followed.

  • Actively participate in staff engagement programs and sustainability (CSR) initiatives.

Regulatory & Business Conduct:

  • Follow Standard Chartered’s Group Code of Conduct and ensure all applicable regulations are met.

  • Demonstrate exemplary conduct by aligning with business and regulatory conduct principles.

  • Identify, escalate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters collaboratively.


Skills & Experience:

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Power BI, and VBA Macro.

  • University degree or MBA (or equivalent qualification).

  • Proven experience in trade capture and life cycle management of financial products.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in similar operations roles within the financial sector.
