Job Description

Position: AML Compliance Analyst

The successful candidate will work in our India hub to mitigate financial risk to American Express through research and analysis of financial activity for suspicious patterns. This role requires reviewing financial records, identifying unusual activities, and working closely with internal teams, including Market Compliance Officers, business representatives, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain knowledge of global financial crime regulations.
Conduct meticulous, time-sensitive reviews of financial activity identified through transaction monitoring and referrals across multiple jurisdictions.
Utilize research and analytical tools to detect and report suspicious activity.
Prepare detailed reports analyzing potentially suspicious financial behavior.
Perform quality assurance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Collaborate with business lines and build relationships with strategic partners to ensure effective coordination.
Assist with additional projects supporting GFCC and non-U.S. teams.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- At least 4 years of work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years as an AML Compliance Analyst in a financial services or payment institution.
- Expertise in Anti-Money Laundering compliance, Suspicious Activity Reporting, financial crime, KYC, enhanced due diligence, or law enforcement.
Technical Skills:
- Strong attention to detail in research, analysis, and documentation.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data and extract critical information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Communication & Professionalism:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and flexible team player.
- High level of professionalism, adaptability, and a sense of urgency.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).

How Will You Make an Impact in This Role?

The role involves contacting clients with overdue accounts to secure settlements and conducting preventive measures to mitigate future overdue risks.
