About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Background Screening Specialist to join our team in the APAC region. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end background screening process for new hires across multiple countries, ensuring compliance with local regulations and BlackRock policies.

Key Responsibilities

Execute background screening for new hires, re-hires, and 3rd party workers in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
Manage re-screening programs: send communications, ensure timeline adherence, and respond to employee queries.
Verify ID documents according to local country guidelines.
Support rescreening of regulated employees in accordance with regional standards.
Collaborate globally with colleagues on background screening tasks.
Adjudicate background screening reports based on established standards using sound judgment.
Maintain all relevant documentation in compliance with BlackRock policies and local privacy laws.
Identify process improvements to streamline screening and enhance the user experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience (preferably in HR, onboarding, or background screening).
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
High attention to detail, critical judgment, and analytical abilities.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage a large volume of varied requests efficiently.
Proven confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive data.
Ability to adapt in a global, multicultural, and matrixed work environment.
Proactive mindset and team-oriented approach.
Experience with Workday and background check platforms (e.g., Sterling, HireRight) is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment & Schedule

Hybrid Model: 4 days in-office, 1 day remote (may vary by team/role).
Fixed-term role: 9 months
