Role Summary

The Accounting and Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in managing daily accounting functions while delivering in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. The role blends traditional accounting with advanced financial modeling and forecasting to ensure accurate financial reporting and actionable business insights.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate records, post journal entries, manage account coding and reconciliations.

  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Ensure timely and compliant closure of financial periods.

  • Reconciliations: Regular reconciliation of balance sheet accounts such as bank, AP, and AR.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).

  • Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure IFRS compliance and assist with audit processes.

  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Participate in other tasks or projects as needed.

Financial Analysis Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Analyze historical data to create forward-looking financial plans.

  • Variance Analysis: Track deviations from budgets or forecasts and propose corrective measures.

  • Financial Modeling: Build models to evaluate performance, profitability, and strategic initiatives.

  • KPI Tracking: Monitor metrics such as revenue growth, margins, MRR, etc.

  • Reporting & Presentations: Create data-driven reports and stakeholder-ready presentations.

  • Strategic Insight: Provide senior management with actionable recommendations based on financial data.

  • Additional Projects: Handle other assigned analytical or business-support tasks.


Qualifications and Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or CMA are highly preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting and financial analysis roles. Experience in the technology industry and senior-level reporting is a plus.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)

    • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling)

    • Microsoft PowerPoint for presentations
