About the Position

Renesas is seeking a Senior Product Engineering Manager to lead a team in new product introduction (NPI) and productization. This role is critical in ensuring successful package selection, development, qualification, reliability assessment, manufacturability, and yield optimization for semiconductor products.

As a technical leader, you will:
???? Manage and mentor a team of 10+ Product Engineers
???? Ensure on-time product qualification and reliability testing
???? Drive package development & risk assessments
???? Collaborate with cross-functional teams & OSAT partners


Your Responsibilities

???? Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Product Engineering (PE) team
  • Set clear goals, monitor performance, and build internal expertise
  • Reduce reliance on external contractors by developing in-house capabilities

???? New Product Development & Qualification

  • Manage product engineering tasks for on-time NPI
  • Oversee package selection, electrical/thermal simulations & DRC
  • Work with quality, reliability, and failure analysis teams to ensure robust qualification and reliability plans

???? Technical Expertise & Data Analytics

  • Utilize data analytics tools (PDF, Spotfire, Yield Watchdog) for:
    ✅ Yield analysis & manufacturability
    ✅ Parametric drift assessment
    ✅ Final test & characterization data review
  • Guide ATE characterization methodology for guaranteeing datasheet performance

???? Collaboration & Cost Optimization

  • Build strong relationships with OSATs to:
    Negotiate cost reductions
    Optimize cycle times for new products
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Test, Quality, Reliability, and Packaging)
  • Ensure smooth hand-off from development to mass production

What You’ll Bring

15+ years of semiconductor industry experience (IC design, Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality & Reliability)
3-5 years of team leadership experience
✔ Strong knowledge of IC packaging, assembly processes, and OSAT collaboration
✔ In-depth understanding of IC qualification & global quality standards (AECQ, JEDEC, IPC)
✔ Expertise in data analytics for yield, characterization & reliability assessment
✔ Ability to lead risk assessments & define execution plans
✔ Fluent in English & Japanese (for collaboration with global teams)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related field
