About the Client

Our client is the world’s largest travel guidance platform, helping millions of travelers each month plan and book trips. With over 1 billion reviews and opinions covering nearly 8 million businesses, this platform enables users to discover accommodations, experiences, and restaurants in 43 markets and 22 languages.

The project team is responsible for building tools to manage data across the platform, including orchestration, scheduling, and ETL generation for cloud migrations and large-scale data operations.

Job Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate data services infrastructure that supports a data-driven culture.
Ensure high-quality code production and maintain all aspects of software engineering, from design to implementation, QA, and maintenance.
Work with an evolving technology stack that includes Java, Kotlin, React, SQL, Spark, Snowflake, and more.
Implement new features in an ETL orchestration tool.
Use cloud technologies for software deployment.
Integrate with production Data Sources and a petabyte-scale data lake.
Collaborate closely with product, data engineering, machine learning, and analytics teams to develop high-quality deliverables.
Work alongside engineering teams in the US, UK, Lisbon, and India.
Contribute to strategic technology decisions in partnership with technical leadership.

Required Qualifications

✔ 5+ years of experience in commercial software development.
✔ Strong expertise in Java development.
✔ Familiarity with Linux and designing infrastructure on AWS or other cloud providers.
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
✔ Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented (OO) design.
✔ Willingness to learn and work with new technologies.
✔ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to write clean, efficient code.
✔ Sense of ownership, urgency, and pride in your work.

Nice-to-Have Skills

⭐ Data mindset with expertise in software engineering and designing infrastructures for large-scale data processing.
⭐ Experience with big data technologies like Hive, Snowflake, NoSQL databases.
⭐ Exposure to technologies like HTML5, JavaScript, React, GraphQL, CSS, SQL, Postgres, Linux, Python, Gradle, Apache Tomcat, BERT, Hive, Spark.
⭐ Experience in developing scalable code for high-volume systems.
