The Insider Risk Management (IRM) Data Security Team focuses on developing cutting-edge cloud solutions for security, compliance, data governance, and data loss prevention across Office 365 and Windows clients. We manage highly sensitive data using Azure, Exchange, and Office applications like Outlook. As we expand, we are looking for talented engineers passionate about cloud systems, distributed computing, big data, security, and compliance.

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer in the IRM Data Security Team, you will be responsible for building large-scale cloud solutions, ensuring system stability, scalability, and security. You will design, develop, and implement distributed services to protect data across planet-scale user bases.

This role requires a deep technical understanding of application architecture, cloud design, infrastructure development, and security systems. You will work closely with engineering teams, drive innovation, and ensure that Microsoft services meet high-performance and security expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Develop:
- Architect and implement large-scale distributed software services and solutions.
- Ensure services are modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, and reusable.
- Develop Azure-based services to support security and compliance solutions.
- Write efficient, high-performance, and scalable code using C# (Java or C++).
Security & Compliance:
- Build security compliance solutions for Office 365 and Windows clients.
- Ensure data loss prevention and governance strategies are effectively implemented.
Live Site Reliability & Performance Optimization:
- Take ownership of Live Site operations, monitoring, automation, and issue resolution.
- Identify bottlenecks, optimize performance, and improve system resilience.
- Define and implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions across Microsoft platforms.
- Engage with technical partners to deliver end-to-end security solutions.
- Work across geographical and organizational boundaries to define requirements, create features, and integrate functionality.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Leverage a data-driven approach to enhance security services.
- Research and implement state-of-the-art cloud security technologies.
- Drive improvements in multi-threading, asynchronous processing, and distributed computing.

Ideal Candidate Profile

✅ Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
4+ years of relevant experience in software development.

✅ Technical Expertise:

Strong knowledge of C# (or Java/C++) and object-oriented programming.
Experience in cloud development (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Proficiency in distributed systems, big data, and security compliance is a plus.
Experience with Azure Services, DevOps, CI/CD, and large-scale infrastructure is preferred.
Knowledge of multithreading, asynchronous programming, and network architecture.
