We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to analyze, develop, design, and maintain software for our products and systems. This position involves system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and consistency. You’ll develop, validate, and test structures and user documentation. Work will be evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.


Responsibilities:

  • Experience with Technologies: Scala, Kafka Streams, Akka Actors, GCP Data Storage (e.g., GCP Buckets, MongoDB, MySQL).

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Design, implementation, and security within GCP, including networking, lifecycle management, and compute services (GCE, GKE).

  • Cloud Development: Hands-on experience with microservices, distributed application architecture, containers, Kubernetes, and serverless technology.

  • CI/CD & Release Management: Experience with seamless/automated build scripts, release management across all environments, and cloud-native CI/CD workflows and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, Cloud Build).

  • Software Design: Establishing requirements for moderately complex software design projects and prioritizing features for implementation.

  • Collaboration & Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, identifying issues early in the process, and proposing recodes.

  • Documentation: Develop and test documentation for software projects.

  • Problem Solving & Innovation: Provide recommendations and solutions using experience in multiple technical areas and applying new technologies to improve performance and productivity.

  • Leadership & Influence: May mentor junior personnel and influence activities within the team.


Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in an operations-style team (e.g., NOC, SOC, MOC) troubleshooting networking, service desk, operations center, and/or supporting cloud-based infrastructure.

  • Proficient with: Scala, Kafka.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Windows, Linux, web services, networking, databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Familiarity with monitoring concepts: Infrastructure, systems, application health, performance, latency, and availability.

  • Entry-level cloud, network, or security certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, CompTIA, or other recognized vendors.

  • Knowledge of SIEM, ELK, PLG, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

  • Cybersecurity-related certifications (e.g., Security+, SSCP, CCSP, CEH).

  • Knowledge of markup, query, and scripting languages (Python, HTML, PromQL, SQL), and familiarity with REST API calls and PowerShell.

  • Experience (1+ years) with ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Event Management.
