Job Description

The role of Senior Test Specialist involves the execution of both Manual and Automation Test Frameworks. The incumbent will plan, deploy, and manage the testing effort for specific engagements or releases. They will define the scope of testing within the context of each release or delivery.

Required Experience and Skills

Experience:

2–5 years of experience in testing.

Must-Have Skills:

Strong communication and articulation skills with a confident approach.
Ability to handle multiple stakeholders.
Knowledge of Agile methodology.
Ability to lead a small team.
Reporting skills when required.

Good-to-Have Skills:

Certification in Automation Tools (preferred).
Experience in BFSI/Telecom domains will be an added advantage.
Ability to drive process adherence and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning and Management:
- Collaborate with the application team to create a test plan framework as per the RTM (Requirements Traceability Matrix).
- Define and manage the scope of testing for releases.
Test Case Creation and Execution:
- Create and update test data for automated test cases.
- Perform SIT (System Integration Testing) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) while overseeing test execution for junior Test Engineers.
- Identify regression tests and test cases suitable for automation.
Defect Management:
- Log defects and follow up with developers, BAs, and IT teams for resolution, adhering to SLA timelines.
- Track defect aging and provide updates.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Provide walkthroughs of test results to stakeholders for sign-offs.
Test Assets Maintenance:
- Create and maintain test assets and repositories.
Best Practices and Knowledge Sharing:
- Assist the foreman in driving best testing practices through knowledge-sharing sessions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare project documentation, including test planning, execution, and defect reporting.
- Ensure regular communication with the Test Lead on any issues that could impact the project’s quality, timeline, or budget.
Team Management:
- Manage timesheets for self and the team, ensuring data accuracy for leave management and aiding the Test Lead in RMG-related requirements.
- Mentor team members and provide support when necessary.
