We, at Jet2 (the UK's third-largest airline and second-largest tour operator), have established a state-of-the-art Technology and Innovation Center in Pune, India. This job opportunity is for Jet2 Travel Technologies Private Limited (Jet2TT), which collaborates with software development teams at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.

As part of Jet2TT, you will work closely with Jet2 project teams in the UK. These teams assist Jet2 in building new systems, upgrading legacy ones, and fostering innovation.

Role Overview

Position: Senior Software Engineer
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be part of our team in Pune, responsible for application design and development. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert who can handle development responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Hands-on coding role: Act as a senior developer in a specialist technical team.
Delivery ownership: Take responsibility for assigned user stories/tasks and support team members in meeting commitments.
Code quality: Write and peer-review clean, efficient code that you'll support in the future.
Skill sharing: Promote quality improvements across the team.
Collaboration: Work closely with UK counterparts and actively participate in scrum meetings to devise methods for achieving desired outcomes.
Mentorship: Guide junior engineers for technical growth.
Communication: Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss complex solutions with technical and non-technical global audiences.

Technical Skills Required:

Programming: Expertise in the MS tech stack, including C#, .NET 4.0+, ASP.NET, MVC, WCF, and Web API.
Front-end development: Proven experience with Angular (2/4/7), Bootstrap, HTML, and CSS.
SQL Server: Ability to write efficient queries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure risk-free deployments. Proficiency in SQL and MS SQL 2012/16.
Continuous Integration (CI/CD): Intermediate-level skills in CI/CD tools such as Git and process automation.
Architecture and Design: Strong knowledge of project architecture principles and design patterns.
Agile/Scrum: Experience in a high-paced Agile environment using tools such as TFS/JIRA.
Test-Driven Development (TDD): Expertise in TDD frameworks like MS Test/NUnit.
Code Quality: Promote high-quality coding and reusable architecture while mentoring junior developers.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer/Information Technology Engineering from a reputed institution.
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in .Net/C#/Microsoft stack development.
Certification: .Net/C# certification from a reputed institute is desirable.
Azure Expertise: Experience in Microsoft Azure with a focus on development, build, and release is a plus.
Travel Industry Experience: Prior experience in the travel industry is preferred but not mandatory.
