The Global Loyalty and Benefits team powers key offerings like Membership Rewards, Amex Offers, Insurance, and Card Benefits for over 112 million cardholders across 58+ markets globally. This role is within the Global Loyalty and Benefits Engineering department, where we create highly scalable, modern platforms using cutting-edge technologies.
Role: Software Engineer – Global Loyalty Platform
We are seeking versatile engineers with leadership qualities to take on new engineering challenges. You will work on a platform built with event-driven architecture using technologies like Golang, Docker, Kafka, Postgres, etc. The platform is designed for high scalability, supporting up to 10K TPS.
In this role, you will lead a software development team of 8+ engineers, driving the development of multiple customer journey features related to rewards and benefits.
Design, develop, and implement complex, large-scale enterprise applications.
Lead software engineering initiatives, including prototypes, design, and coding.
Partner with product managers, internal teams, and customers to improve platform capabilities.
Drive best engineering practices (code reviews, build and release processes) across teams.
Empower teams to automate scalable application deployments in test/production environments.
Identify and resolve complex technical issues using industry standards and best practices.
Collaborate with leadership teams to define solutions and drive software maturity.
Lead and mentor a software engineering team, nurturing their growth and productivity.
Drive the team’s technical roadmap and improvements, ensuring continuous engineering advancement.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (Advanced degree preferred).
5+ years of software development experience with Golang or similar programming languages.
2+ years of leadership experience in a complex technical environment.
Proven experience in designing, creating, and deploying enterprise-grade technology assets.
Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and cross-platform solution integration.
Hands-on experience with automation testing and documentation (automated, functional, performance).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Rally, JIRA, and version control systems like GIT or SVN.
Ability to set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Experience introducing new engineering techniques and solutions.
Expertise in Go (Golang) and working in an Agile development environment.
Experience with migration from legacy systems to modern tech stacks.
Proven ability to collaborate across business units to drive software solutions aligned with strategic roadmaps.
Expertise in coaching and guiding engineering teams to produce high-quality, well-documented, and compliant software.
