Role Purpose

The Senior Engineer - Electrical (Engineering Design) will be responsible for the complete design of Electrical, Navigational, and Communication systems for assigned projects. This includes ensuring safety, quality, and budget compliance, while achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

Project Design & Execution

✔ Develop electrical, control, and communication system designs in different project phases: basic, detail, and production.
✔ Identify, select, and design electrical systems/equipment as per project requirements.
✔ Prepare engineering studies, technical specifications, and installation standards.
✔ Conduct design verifications, calculations, and benchmarking.
✔ Liaise with clients and classification societies to ensure technical requirements are met.
✔ Participate in design reviews, 3D model reviews, and inter-discipline checks.
✔ Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and safety regulations.

Process Management & Coordination

✔ Supervise Engineers/Draughtsmen to maintain procedural compliance and engineering standards.
✔ Plan and track project deliverables, manpower, and resource allocation.
✔ Ensure quality control during vessel construction and follow up with trades.
✔ Conduct shipyard audits, risk assessments, and training sessions.
✔ Estimate man-hours and material requirements for assigned tasks.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

✔ Identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
✔ Monitor engineering deliverables, progress reports, and KPIs.
✔ Review third-party technical documents and resolve client comments effectively.
✔ Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.

Required Skills & Competencies

???? Technical Expertise:
✔ Strong knowledge of electrical, control, and communication system design for marine/offshore platforms.
✔ Experience in power generation, distribution systems, and safety compliance.
✔ Proficiency in engineering software such as ETAP, AGi32.
✔ Understanding of installation and commissioning procedures.

???? Soft Skills:
✔ Excellent project management, planning, and decision-making skills.
✔ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects efficiently.
✔ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
✔ Effective team leadership and mentoring abilities.
✔ Excellent English communication and report writing skills.

Qualifications & Experience

???? Education:
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
✔ Master’s degree (preferred but not mandatory).

???? Experience:
✔ 10+ years of relevant experience in shipyard, offshore, or oil & gas industry (design office).
✔ Experience in telecom & navigation systems is a plus.

???? Certifications & Memberships:
✔ Membership in IET or IEEE (preferred).
✔ Project Management Certification (desirable).
