About the Role

As an Engineering Specialist – Measurement & Analyzer Systems (M&AS), you will bridge the gap between hydrocarbon accounting teams and engineering teams. You will provide expertise on metering and measurement systems used in upstream production assets, ensuring risk management, operational efficiency, compliance, and standardization.


Key Responsibilities

???? Ensure all Measurement & Analyzer Systems (M&AS) align with bp and international standards for meter sizing and design.
???? Verify that custody transfer, allocation, and environmental measurement equipment meet commercial and regulatory requirements.
???? Monitor performance indicators and detect potential issues in M&AS data or equipment.
???? Diagnose and resolve mismeasurement issues.
???? Support hydrocarbon accounting and multi-phase flow quantification discussions.
???? Assist in maintenance, compliance, and lifecycle improvements for measurement equipment.
???? Develop and update maintenance plans and procedures.
???? Conduct risk assessments for analyzer systems (HAZOPs, LOPAs, MoCs, etc.).
???? Ensure cybersecurity risk controls for all regional measurement systems.
???? Support the Senior M&AS Engineer in regulatory and commercial compliance.


Requirements

Education & Certifications:

???? Required: A degree in Engineering or Science
???? Preferred: Professional accreditation

Experience:

✅ Minimum 5 years in measurement science or engineering
✅ 8–12 years in an engineering design firm, equipment manufacturer, or energy company (upstream, midstream, or refining)

Technical Skills & Expertise:

???? Strong knowledge of API & ISO standards for measurement & analyzer systems
???? Understanding of fluid flow properties & multi-phase conditions
???? Experience in multi-discipline engineering teams
???? Knowledge of hydrocarbon accounting & uncertainty estimation
???? Familiarity with remote team collaboration & contractor performance management
???? Proficiency in risk management, process safety, & compliance
