Role Overview: Linux System Administrator

This is a technical role responsible for the installation, maintenance, and configuration of Red Hat Linux servers supporting critical application infrastructure across multiple data centers.

???? Ideal Candidate: A Linux System Administrator with 6+ years of experience in managing large-scale Linux environments and troubleshooting complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

✔️ System Administration & Maintenance

Perform server administration tasks to ensure systems are operating as expected.
Monitor and troubleshoot priority incidents to restore service.
Plan and install system packages and upgrades.
Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and best practices.

✔️ Security & Performance Optimization

Modify configurations and systems to harden security or remediate vulnerabilities.
Monitor and respond to server performance issues.
Perform system tuning and file system management.

✔️ Automation & Process Improvement

Automate routine system administration activities.
Provide recommendations to reduce overhead/costs and improve efficiency.
Work with application teams to configure and troubleshoot systems.

Qualifications & Skills

???? Education & Experience:

6+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator.
Experience managing virtual and physical servers.

???? Technical Expertise:

Linux OS (RHEL 7/8 preferred).
Experience working in large-scale Linux environments with formal change management procedures.
Excellent troubleshooting skills across distributed environments.
Knowledge of server monitoring tools & performance optimization.
Experience with system security hardening & vulnerability management.
Scripting & Automation (Bash, Ansible, Puppet – preferred).
