Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to oversee all engineering and maintenance operations at Renaissance Ahmedabad Hotel. This role is responsible for building maintenance, regulatory compliance, energy conservation, and asset protection. You will also manage budgets, lead capital expenditure projects, and ensure safety and security standards are met.

As part of this role, you will lead the emergency response team for all facility issues, ensuring the smooth operation of hotel facilities.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

???? Option 1: High school diploma or GED with 3 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or related professional areas, along with technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, or plumbing.

???? Option 2: 2-year degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related field, with 1 year of experience in engineering and maintenance, plus technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, or plumbing.

Key Responsibilities

Managing Engineering Operations & Budgets

✅ Oversee building maintenance including equipment, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical systems.
✅ Ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards for the facility.
✅ Manage and control energy consumption (heat, light, and power) and implement cost-effective energy conservation strategies.
✅ Develop and administer service contracts for building maintenance needs.
✅ Assign and monitor preventative maintenance and repair work orders to ensure timely completion.
✅ Supervise the maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, and recreational facilities.
✅ Develop a long-term plan for asset protection and preventative maintenance.
✅ Oversee renovation and new construction projects, ensuring budget compliance.
✅ Maintain strong relationships with external vendors, city building/zoning departments, and fire safety bureaus.
✅ Ensure the fire crew is well-trained and all fire-fighting equipment and alarm systems are maintained.

Property Maintenance & Standards

✅ Conduct monthly inspections of the property to ensure building and grounds upkeep.
✅ Perform guest room and public space inspections to maintain high-quality standards.
✅ Recommend and arrange additional repair, renovation, and furnishing replacement services.
✅ Order and manage inventory of parts, equipment, and furnishings.
✅ Ensure all building and equipment licenses and certifications are up to date.
✅ Maintain life safety systems including fire alarms, sprinklers, and firefighting equipment.

Customer Service & Guest Satisfaction

✅ Provide leadership in guest hospitality, creating a welcoming and positive experience.
✅ Analyze guest feedback, satisfaction reports, and comments to identify and address areas for improvement.
✅ Collaborate with hotel leadership to implement corrective actions and improve guest satisfaction ratings.
