Your Role & Mission

As an Engineering Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in driving excellence, productivity, and growth within Apollo’s engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity for hands-on mentorship, career acceleration, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

???? Team Leadership & Growth

Define, set, and enforce team goals and expectations.
Foster a culture of excellence, learning, and fun.
Observe and improve development and management processes.
Work closely with CTO, Product Managers, and Designers to deliver high-quality software rapidly.
Play an active role in key decision-making processes within the engineering organization.

???? Technical Contributions

Participate in sprint planning, software design, and occasional code reviews.
Collaborate with engineers to develop and execute on personalized goals.
Conduct quarterly performance reviews to provide objective, constructive feedback.

???? Hiring & Mentorship

Source and hire top engineering talent to scale a world-class team.
Hold weekly 1:1 meetings with engineers to provide mentorship and feedback.
Develop personalized growth plans for engineers.

???? Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of software engineering experience (leading senior and staff-level engineers).
3-5 years of people management experience, preferably leading senior engineers & managers.
Proven track record of technical leadership, with expertise in software architecture at scale, engineering processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong experience with Ruby and Python.
Knowledge of data privacy and security fundamentals.
