Your Role & Mission

As an Engineering Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in driving excellence, productivity, and growth within Apollo’s engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity for hands-on mentorship, career acceleration, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

???? Team Leadership & Growth

  • Define, set, and enforce team goals and expectations.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, learning, and fun.
  • Observe and improve development and management processes.
  • Work closely with CTO, Product Managers, and Designers to deliver high-quality software rapidly.
  • Play an active role in key decision-making processes within the engineering organization.

???? Technical Contributions

  • Participate in sprint planning, software design, and occasional code reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and execute on personalized goals.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews to provide objective, constructive feedback.

???? Hiring & Mentorship

  • Source and hire top engineering talent to scale a world-class team.
  • Hold weekly 1:1 meetings with engineers to provide mentorship and feedback.
  • Develop personalized growth plans for engineers.

???? Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience (leading senior and staff-level engineers).
  • 3-5 years of people management experience, preferably leading senior engineers & managers.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership, with expertise in software architecture at scale, engineering processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong experience with Ruby and Python.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security fundamentals.
