???? Job Description

Role: Lead Database Management
As a key member of the Database Management Team, you will oversee the performance, renewability, and troubleshooting of production databases. This includes managing system monitoring, resource consumption, and capacity planning, ensuring high availability of enterprise-class database environments across cloud (GCP and AWS) and on-premises infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead 24x7x365 database management for production systems across cloud and on-prem environments.

  • Cultivate high-performing, diverse teams guided by an innovation mindset to ensure stable, secure, and cost-effective operations.

  • Build strong partnerships with Engineering and Operations teams, improving operational availability, observability, and efficiency.

  • Develop and execute strategies, practices, and standards for database management processes, security, and compliance.

  • Lead initiatives to reduce risk, complexity, and cost using machine learning, AI-assisted tooling, and predictive capabilities for intelligent automation.


????️ Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Database Engineering/DBSRE/Operations, managing large, diverse database landscapes on cloud (GCP, AWS) and bare metal servers.

  • Extensive experience administering at least one relational database engine (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL).

  • Experience in Banking/Payments Industry is a plus.

  • Proven experience in managing vendor relationships.

  • Proven track record in attracting, hiring, retaining, and leading top-tier engineering talent while building high-performing teams.

  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced, complex global environment.

  • Outstanding collaboration skills, demonstrated by successfully driving consensus and fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
