Role Overview

As an Engineer in the Cloud Solutions Engineering team, you will be embedded in an agile environment focused on building modern, scalable, cloud-native solutions. You'll support American Express teams and customers in architecting and adopting cloud solutions while advancing innovation through the latest development practices.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with product and partner teams to make applications cloud-ready.
Help customers design complex architecture solutions and ensure adaptability to the public cloud.
Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies and optimize implementation.
Guide customers in selecting the most appropriate cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) based on specific use cases.
Independently manage tasks, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
2+ years of professional software development experience.
Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, JavaScript, Python, or Go.
Strong understanding of cloud-native application patterns, microservices architecture, and cloud migrations.
Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP); associate-level certifications are a plus.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions is preferred.
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or service mesh is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving mindset with a continuous learning attitude.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including participation in group-based working sessions.
