About the Role

We are looking for a Web Engineer with expertise in JavaScript, NodeJS, React, and emerging JavaScript frameworks. If you're passionate about building highly scalable, performant, and fault-tolerant applications, this role is for you!

You will be part of the Demand Generation & Card Shop group, which focuses on delivering best-in-class user experiences for customers shopping for American Express products. Your contributions will be highly visible, impactful, and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

???? Develop and deliver features for end-to-end web applications on a cross-functional team.
???? Work with in-house frameworks to build and optimize applications.
???? Collaborate with product owners to understand business needs and refine stories.
???? Embrace code reviews, pair programming, and process innovation to improve the team.
???? Optimize code for accessibility, performance, and availability.
???? Increase deployment confidence by writing tests, contributing to reliability frameworks, and identifying automation opportunities.
???? Investigate and resolve production issues in collaboration with the site reliability team.
???? Innovate and implement new technologies to enhance team efficiency and application quality.

Qualifications & Skills

✔ 7+ years of experience in Web Development.
✔ Strong experience with React.js, Redux, and state management.
✔ Solid understanding of NodeJS, Jest, Mocha, Rest, GraphQL, Express.
✔ Proficiency in modern JavaScript coding, open-source ecosystem, and best development practices.
✔ Passion for providing an outstanding customer experience, with an emphasis on accessibility and performance.
✔ Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with DevOps principles.
✔ Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate on problem-solving.
✔ Excited about innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.
