Overview

The Data & Services team at Mastercard is a global group combining consulting expertise with powerful data and technologies. We serve diverse clients – from financial institutions to retailers and governments – delivering insight-driven strategies, marketing programs, risk solutions, and test-and-learn platforms.

The Advisors Research Center is a specialized global capability within this group. It’s focused on market research and insights generation, built to rapidly respond to evolving customer needs through data accuracy, high-quality research, and value-driven recommendations.


Role Summary

As a Data Processing Lead, you’ll be responsible for managing and processing large quantitative datasets, ensuring accuracy, structure, and insight extraction. This role is pivotal in converting raw data into actionable insights to support Mastercard’s strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Analysis

  • Oversee data processing, cleaning, and organization from large-scale quantitative surveys.

  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and reliability in data for business insights.

  • Analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data using advanced tools.

Research Coordination

  • Partner with third-party vendors to coordinate and oversee data collection and processing efforts.

  • Ensure that data meets project specifications and research objectives.

  • Structure and categorize data in alignment with research goals and market segments.

Survey Development

  • Develop and script surveys using various platforms to meet specific research requirements.

  • Ensure quality control and consistency in survey execution.

Reporting & Visualization

  • Design and create data tables, charts, and visualizations to support insights delivery.

  • Present insights in a clear, accessible, and impactful format for both internal teams and clients.

Team Collaboration & Documentation

  • Collaborate with the market research and analytics teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of processes, and update project managers on task progress.

  • Assist in knowledge sharing and best practices documentation across teams.


Qualifications and Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or Market Research.

  • 10–12 years of experience in market research data processing, including cleaning and organizing large datasets.

  • Experience working across diverse quantitative research methodologies.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data visualization).

  • Proficiency in statistical tools such as SPSS, R, SAS, or Python.

  • Familiarity with survey scripting platforms and tools.

  • Knowledge of database management and basic programming is a plus.

  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques like MaxDiff or Conjoint Analysis is preferable.

Communication & Organization

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to turn raw data into valuable insights.

  • Fluent in English and local language; additional languages are an advantage.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and knowledge of project management tools.
